The Prairie Pointe neighborhood in West Omaha is located off the northeast corner of 168th and Q. This is a popular Omaha neighborhood that has something for everyone! 

The area hosts 497 properties built between 1992 and 1993 by Benchmark Homes. The Omaha neighborhood has something for everyone, no matter your interests! Schools, shopping and dining, entertainment, and good old-fashioned community.

Lake Zorinsky

Lake Zorinksy is a 255-acre lake with walking trails, fishing, boating, wildlife, and playgrounds. In the summer, Zorinsky Park hosts a summer concert series and occasional hot air balloon lift-offs! This area is home to one of the few remaining grassland prairies in Nebraska, the Bauermeister Prairie.

As a resident, you can walk/bike/run and access the paved trails at two locations off Rolling Ridge, and living in Prairie Point gives you easy access! The seven miles of trails will give you a great workout, and occasionally, you may even see horses and their riders enjoying the area.

Not interested in the pool during summer? July also hosts the summer concert series on Friday evenings from 6-9 pm. 2023 dates include July 21st and July 28th.  Local band Lemon Fresh Day performed on July 29th, 2022 where lawn chairs are encouraged and food trucks feed the hungry.

Although you can fish year-round, during the winter months grab your ice augur and tents and have fun ice fishing for a variety of different fish species including but not limited to, largemouth bass, bluegill, black crappie, walleye and channel catfish.

Great Local Restaurants

From any entrance, you can frequent any number of established national food chains including McDonalds, Taco Bell, Chick Fil A, Sonic, Culvers, Taco Johns and Olive Garden to name a few. Perhaps most intriguing is the large number of locally owned restaurants and bars in the area.  

The Deviled Egg Co., approximately 6 minutes from Prairie Pointe, is a new and unique business specializing in deviled eggs and cocktails.  The Bearded Brewer, also located by Deviled Egg Co. has local beer and local rotating food trucks to try. There are a number of local bars and dining options you can visit including Timber Creek Pizza, Over Easy, and many more. Whatever your tastes are, there are plenty of other food options in the area with La Mesa for Mexican food and Brewsky’s bar and grill less than 3 minutes away.

Millard Public Schools

The assigned schools are part of the award-winning Milliard Public School system.  Current boundaries are for Millard West High School and Russell Middle School, and there is a split on which school elementary students would attend. Homes to the West of 165th street attend Willowdale and East of that attend Ackerman; however, as a buyer, you should always check with the school district to verify the schools’ boundaries. The US census report that there are 106 toddlers, 138 elementary-age children, 116 middle schoolers, and 103 high school students in the Prairie Point neighborhood.

Community and Resident Engagement 

The neighborhood has 497 single-family homes, and not only do these residents have access to dining, entertainment, shopping, and recreation they also have the means to interact and assist each other through social media. Residents can become a part of the Zorinsky Southeast Neighborhood on Nextdoor and become a member of the Facebook group (1) Prairie Pointe Neighborhood Association | Facebook and be connected to all neighborhood alerts and events happening in the area.  For example, you get notified and can participate in the neighborhood's yearly garage sale advertised in May of every year. The neighborhood is also walkable with some varying street inclines.

Over the last 12 months, Prairie Pointe has had an 11.7% estimated home value change with a median estimated home value at $288,000! Since January 1st, 2022, there have been 20 homes SOLD, and all but 1 home sold for over list price. The average SOLD price was $288,144!

According to the neighborhood statistics provided through the Realtors Property Resource, 93% (759) of the residents own their home and only 7% (35) are renting. The median home age is 37 years old. The population of the neighborhood is around 1660 with an average age of 36 years old.
